About Taeliana

What is Taeliana?

Taeliana is a huge continent, technically under the rule of the largely benevolent Empire, but containing some very large self-governing areas. It’s post-post-apocalypse, a thousand years after driving out the minions of the dread god known as the Corruptor and restoring the land to a place where people can live without fear. While the Empire itself works hard to police itself and keep things peaceful and safe, there are always cracks where dark and ugly things hide and try to undermine those efforts for their own reasons and their desire for power.

That’s why it needs heroes – to stop those looking to undermine the (largely benevolent!) Empire.

Taeliana is a world of magic and adventure, a rich tapestry of terrain and peoples. While often peaceful on the surface, there are powers of evil trying to undermine the Empire and turn it from a place of hope and plenty to a realm where hope is forgotten and tyranny is the rule... and they may not be the worst threats.

Thankfully, there are heroes of all sorts in the land. Some set out to be heroes, some fall into it by accident, and some are pushed by fate or the power of destiny into their heroism.

Come and see Taeliana, its heroes, its people, its dangers, and the people who stand against those dangers to save it.

Inspired by the legacies of adventure stories, games, and movies, the Chronicles of Taeliana are at their core about what happens when people rise to become what they need to be to help others, despite their foibles and flaws.

The heroes of the Chronicles are all some flavor of LGBTQIA+, and their struggles include understanding and confronting their worries and confusion, to find the true power of heroism in Taeliana: compassion and an understanding of yourself.
