Jen Dantes doesn't just write fantasy - she’s lived in it for decades. A Philadelphia-based transgender author, Jen shares her home with her wife and an eclectic assortment of stuffed animals and Amish dolls.

Her journey into publishing began during a difficult career transition, when writing served as a vital anchor, helping her maintain a positive attitude and keep her creative spark alive. That resilient focus ultimately culminated in the Chronicles of Taeliana series. Jen’s obsession with speculative fiction kicked off in 1977 with Star Wars (before it was Episode IV: A New Hope), leading to a lifetime of tabletop campaigns (Dungeons & Dragons, Champions, Shadowrun, Star Wars D6) and MMORPG raids (World of Warcraft, City of Heroes, Everquest). It’s safe to say her imagination is anchored in multiple realities at once.

In the physical realm, she stays busy cooking, crafting costumes, designing 3D prints, solving tech problems, and occasionally sleeping.

The image on this page is not her, but a fictional version of her who lives in the world of Taeliana.
